Press Release
12-12-08

The Contractors Caring for Kids 13th Annual Toy Drive and Fundraiser was a huge success! The event was attended by hundreds of people and was another record-breaking year for this all-volunteer non-profit charity. Yes, that’s right, even during tough economic times, the Construction community in our area proves that they do indeed have Hard Hats and Soft Hearts!

On Saturday December 6th at the Roseville Sports Complex, thousands of toys were collected, filling at least 15 trucks full of toys for local children in need. Contractors Caring for Kids 13th Annual Toy Drive was attended by more people and collected more money than ever before! Additionally, the event raised $30,310.00 in monetary donations (so far, donations still coming in) for local children’s charities. The benefiting children’s charities this year were, Big Brother/Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Clubs, WEAVE (Women Escaping a Violent Environment), UC Davis Hospice, and Sacramento Children’s Receiving Home, and WIND Youth (Works in New Directions).

Inspectors from all over the area; Sacramento, Roseville, and Folsom, attended the event and offered their lovely faces in the annual pie-tossing event. What a great group of individuals going to any lengths to help local children in need!

Many companies organized toy drives and brought trucks and trailers full of toys. Our largest toy donations this year came from Roebbelen Construction who collected more than 100 bikes with helmets and safety gear and tons more toys for local children in need. Our largest monetary donation was a double platinum level donation received from Construction Financial Management Association for $16,706.00.

“Building a better future” is a motto for Contractors Caring for Kids. Our area construction community will continue to work to make a difference in the lives of local children in need and hopefully, build a brighter future for everyone. In light of the economic crisis in our country many people are buying gold and other types of real property investments. Investing in yourself may be more valuable right now than ever before. Staying in your home, remodeling or renovating it and investing in your own life is the best investment idea today. Buying real property assets which will work for you and make your life better long-term will be a smart money move for the future. An investment in power tools can save you money today and make you money tomorrow. Other ideas for real asset investment is in your home and home furnishings. Buying home furnishings today may save you money in the future. Also, these investments in yourself and your family will improve your comfort and overall happiness in the future.

When making purchases or buying gifts, think of ways to make your quality of life better at a time when our country’s future anything but certain. Leading economists suggest that we may indeed be experiencing a recession or perhaps, we are heading into a modern day depression. Some economic scholars even suggest that within our lifetime, we could realistically see the entire collapse of the US dollar. Real and personal asset investments may pay your greatest dividends at a time you need it the most.

Choose the right trigger system for your Senco Nail Gun!

Posted in Uncategorized at 6:55 pm by Administrator

Choose the right trigger system from Senco and other major manufacturers for your specific power tool needs!

Sequential Actuation Trigger (also known as restrictive trigger or trigger fire)
operates in the following a sequence – depress the safety element at the nose of tool against the work surface then pull the trigger. After each fastener is driven, release the trigger and lift the tool off the work surface before starting the sequence again. This trigger is recommended and acceptable for most applications.

Contact Actuation Trigger (also known as dual action, bounce or bottom fire)
operates in the following sequence- pull the trigger first and keep the trigger pulled while moving the tool along the work surface with a bouncing motion, depressing the safety element at the nose of the tool against the work surface where the fastener is to be driven. This trigger is recommended for use by trained professionals only in high production or volume applications.

Buy the right tool for your job, especially in today’s economy!

Posted in Uncategorized at 9:16 pm by Administrator

In today’s competitive marketplace, buying the right power tools for your jobs is key to your success. With the housing slump and overall economic slowdown, profit margins on most jobs are tight and bids are highly competitive. Most contractors can’t afford to make a mistake in purchasing power tools from the wrong manufacturer. Buying proven quality products from established manufacturers with quality control and excellent guarantees will help insure that your jobs get done safely and efficiently. Most importantly, it will help you improve your bottom line.

Many online power tool companies offer most major brands, like Makita, Senco, MK Diamond, Bosch, Skil, Hitachi, and so on. They have proven quality, experience and they stand behind their tools with important manufacturer guarantees. These leading manufacturers for power tools offer everything from saws, nailers, staplers, cordless tools, drills, and many more. Anything you could need for your construction needs can be found online, but don’t be fooled by the knock off’s. Some stores offer brands that look like a leading manufacturer. They may even have the same color scheme, but they do not offer the same quality and guarantees as the industry leaders.

Make sure you are buying from a reputable store with knowledgeable employees who can help you find the right tool for your specific job. For example, knowing which saw to purchase makes the difference in the profitability of your job, not to mention the easy of use and safety as you work with that tool. Some online store are owned and operated by contractors with decades of experience in the power tool industry. So in today’s competitive marketplace, make sure you are buying the “real” and proven tools made by industry leaders and make sure that you are buying them from an online power tool store who knows your business.
